“ Know Thyself ”
It was written on the gate of the school of Pythagoras and also above the entrance to the Oracle of Delphi. Socrates taught it to his disciples, as did Krishna, Buddha, Lao Zi, Jesus and Rama. On the path to more conscious living, “Know Yourself” is a fundamental lesson

Self Observation

If you are hungry for more Self Knowledge, for brutal honesty with yourself, for more unveiled truth, then practicing Self Observation is essential. But how do you do that? What do you observe? What are the pitfalls? What does it all trigger and what do you do with it? What is the promise of Self Observation?
During this series, we want to bring rich food to seekers along the way. You don't have to have any prior knowledge. Nor do you have to believe or assume anything. We especially invite you to explore some things in yourself and discover what is true for you.

For whom?

Anyone can join, you don't need any prior knowledge just a large dose of curiosity, courage and a firm desire for more self-knowledge.
Know that spaces are limited to a maximum of 23 participants.
Note for fellow students of Russ Hudson
We have found that Self Observation is the connective tissue to much of the Enneagram of Personality’s teachings, particularly those of Russ Hudson. Russ, having studied with Gurdjieffian teachers, makes references to the Work that land better with deeper knowledge of the laws of Self Observation. For example, we often hear him say, “Get out of the story and into the energy.” By learning Self Observation, you can learn exactly what that means, how to do it, and what sage advice it really is.

Red Hawk

Self Observation requires will and intention. We therefore want to inspire you and provide proven practical guidelines. During the sessions regular reference will be made to the book Self Observation by Red Hawk, who writes with the unmistakable voice of unforced authority on this subject, available only through long experience and deep and persistent cultivation. Throughout the sessions, key points will be underlined with pieces of his poetry.

I have leaned into inner understanding since I was a child. From the time I have been able to speak I have been fascinated by dreams, and as an adult have worked with a Jungian analyst to help me unlock the metaphors that show the path to inner development and transformation. I have long sought to know and master myself despite the many setbacks from pain and suffering caused by unconscious material rising in me. My aim is to know myself, including the unconscious material that can so gracelessly cause a fall. I care about the present moment, being in it, and inclining myself toward it, so I can awaken into the moment as many moments of the day as possible. I care about relationship, safety, non-harming, making amends, and am passionately committed to my own transformation. I make mistakes. I am human. I seek dialogue and forgiveness for any I might make with you. I am not enlightened and do not wish to be thought of as such. I am someone who can share from my own experience what work has helped me along the way be as present as possible. My aim here is to share with you the parts of Self Observation I have understood, and helped unlock myself with, so that you might have that opportunity too, as you work with the material Red Hawk gifted to all of us. I hold teaching certificates in Mindfulness and the Enneagram that only prove my inner hunger to know myself. Beyond my inner work, I facilitate various Enneagram groups, dialogue with others about their dreams (and what they mean), and caregive for my mother. Caregiving is sacred work, and I have much esteem and compassion for those who do that kind of heavy lifting.

I believe that conflicts and paradoxes can be precious gifts—gateways to maturing into something new. As a family mediator, Enneagram practitioner and coach, I work in the tender spaces where connection can fracture or deepen, seeing each moment as an invitation to presence and transformation. The Enneagram has been a steady companion on my path of self-discovery and The Diamond Approach invaluable along the way. The laws and principles of Self-Observation have guided my shift from doing to being—continuously teaching me to anchor attention in the body, stand my ground when observing, and open to the voluntary suffering inseparable from true self-observation. Not to change anything, but to see without judgment. I know this path is not for the faint-hearted. It requires patience, will, and the courage to welcome the voluntary suffering inseparable from true observation. This is a path of falling and rising, of failing and falling upward. I am grateful for this age, where I need not cross deserts or oceans to find wisdom. Exceptional teachers have been at my fingertips, and I wish to carry their gifts into my and our work.
I have a mediation practice in Belgium, and for many years I also have been facilitating groups of fellow heroes and sheroes on their journeys toward a more relaxed and Love-oriented life. I am a mother of three and a life partner of thirty-seven years. I have a special place in my heart and agenda for mothers of children with complex needs, and for mothers who have lost a child.
I aim to be a Love activist and co-creator of safe spaces where the truth can be spoken and held.
